It seems so clear that the labels hurt both people. Distance and polarization are the result, wounding both souls. And yet it is so easy to slip into the labeling process, if only to make our own lives seemingly easier. At least then we don't have to deal with the real differences that might be there and develop a deeper kind of contact. At least we can slip away behind our familiar fences, keeping us comfortably unconcious.
